VARIATIONS

This exercise follows a study of Simmons Hall (Steven Holl, 2022) at MIT campus. The two proposed structures remix and play on the campus residence's architectural themes. In particular, each proposal takes as reference Holl's unit mix of single and double rooms, aggregation logic, spatial organization, and natural lighting strategies (e.g. the structural 'lungs', as seen in Aggr. 2).
